PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a technique for oscillating linearly polarized pulsed laser light from a YAG without depending upon a low frequency excitation technique.SOLUTION : A YAG 6 not containing a rare earth element is joined to an incident surface of a laser medium 8. Then, deformation of the incident surface is suppressed, even if a repetition frequency of excitation light 4 is increased, a beam diameter in the laser medium is inhibited from becoming narrower, so that a decrease in power of the laser light is suppressed. Further, it is assumed that the (100) axis of the YAG extends along an optical axis of a resonance system of the laser light.
