PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a method for manufacturing a rare earth magnet capable of improving a remanent flux density of the rare earth magnet and suppressing a crack in the rare earth magnet. SOLUTION : A method for manufacturing a rare earth magnet comprises : a molding step of forming a compact 10 by supplying metal powders containing a rare earth element into a die 2; a magnetic field applying step of orientating and demagnetizing the metal powders contained in the compact 10 held in a die 2 by applying a magnetic field H to the compact 10; and a sintering step of sintering the compact 10 separated from the die 2 after the magnetic field applying step. The magnetic field applying step adjusts a surface magnetic flux density of the compact 10 to 0T or higher and 0.075T or lower. The sintering step sinters a compact whose density is adjusted to 3.0 g/cm3 or higher and 4.4 g/cm3 or lower. SELECTED DRAWING : Figure 2 COPYRIGHT : (C)2018, JPO&INPIT
