PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a sheath material for a lithium battery which can suppress the reduction in laminate strength due to an electrolytic solution, has excellent moisture-proof property and is further thinned.SOLUTION : In a sheath material 1 for a lithium battery, on a deposition layer 16 side in a barrier base material 11 in which the deposition layer 16 is formed on a base material 15, a corrosion prevention treated layer 12, an adhesion layer 13 and a sealant layer 14 are sequentially laminated. The deposition layer 16 is a layer deposited with at least one kind selected from a group consisting of aluminum, silica, alumina and diamond-like carbon. The corrosion prevention treated layer 12 is either a layer containing a rare earth element oxide or a layer formed by chemical conversion treatment.
