A parameter determination method and a MIMO receiver are disclosed, wherein the parameter determination method estimates a channel correlation with respect to a plurality of REs using information about channels of the plurality of REs included in a resource region allocated by a MIMO transmitter; determines a downlink signal rank taking account of the channel correlation; and transmits information about the determined rank to the MIMO transmitter.
