PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a multi-core fiber by which a crosstalk is restricted between adjacent cores. SOLUTION : A multi-core fiber includes a plurality of cores 10, and a clad 15 surrounding the plurality of cores 10. The core 10 has an inside core 11, and an outside core 12 surrounding the inside core 11 without a gap and having the refraction index higher than the inside core 11 and the clad 15. No rare earth element is added to the core 10. Two or more lights with an LP mode having a predetermined wavelength propagate in the core 10 with a loss of 0.3 dB/km or less.
