FIELD : chemistry. SUBSTANCE : proposed catalyst composition for polymerization of a conjugated diene monomer containing complex rare earth element. The catalyst composition comprises components (a), (b) and (c), wherein component (a) is a lanthanide-aluminium structured complex having the structure represented by the following formula or , wherein Ln is an element selected from A group consisting of lanthanoid elements, Sc and Y; and R1-R4 may be the same or different and represent a radical selected from the group consisting of a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group having from 1 to 8 carbon atoms, an alkylsilyl group, an alkyloxy group and a dialkylamide group; component (b) is an alkyl aluminium compound represented by the formula HnAlR103-n, where R10 may be the same or different and represents an alkyl group having 1 to 8 carbon atoms or an alkenyl group of 1 to 8 carbon atoms; and n is an integer from 0 to 3; and component (c) is one or more compounds selected from the group consisting of metal halides and halosilyl compounds. The molar ratio of lanthanide metal Ln element-aluminium complex structured to halogen metal halide compounds and/or halosilyl compound is from 1 : 0.5 to 1 : 4. According to the present invention, the catalyst composition has high polymerization activity and can provide a polymer with a high cis content. Using the catalyst composition for the polymerization according to the present invention effectively provides a conjugated diene polymer having a high cis content of 98% or more, under conditions of a higher temperature than ever.
