PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a polymerizable monomer which contains a specified number of silicon atoms and a specified number of fluorine atoms, has high purity and is suitable as an ophthalmological monomer and good in compatibility with (meth)acrylic monomers to be used together and its production method.SOLUTION : A compound of formula (1) and its production method are provided. In formula (1), Rand Rare 1-4C monovalent hydrocarbon groups; n is 2 or 3; Ris a 1-10C divalent hydrocarbon group; Ris a 1-8C fluorine-substituted monovalent hydrocarbon group; Ris a 4-8C (meth)acryloxy-substituted monovalent hydrocarbon; and Ris a hydrogen atom or a 1-4C monovalent hydrocarbon group.
