This positive electrode substance 1000 is provided with a positive electrode active material 110 and a coating layer 111 which contains a first solid electrolyte and which covers at least part of the surface of the positive electrode active material 110. The first solid electrolyte is represented by the following composition formula : Formula (1) ... Liα1M1β1X1γ1. In composition formula (1), α1, β1 and γ1 are independently positive real numbers, M1 contains calcium, yttrium and at least one rare earth element other than yttrium, and X1 includes at least one item selected from the group consisting of F, Cl, Br and I.
