PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a superconducting wire rod capable of increasing current density of flowing current by attenuating screening current while suppressing breakage by overcurrent and a superconducting coil using the same.
SOLUTION : A superconducting wire rod 11 has a superconducting layer 14 by a superconducting body of a rare earth-based oxide arranged via an intermediate layer 13 on a substrate 12 and is formed with a tape shape by arranging a protection layer 15 and stabilizing layer 16 on the superconducting layer 14. The superconducting layer 14 has at least a slit 17 extending in a length direction x and a conductive material 18 is inserted into the slit 17. The conductive material is a conductive metal with electrical resistivity of 10-4 to 10-6 Ωm and preferably low melting point metal with the melting point of 50 to 300°C. The slit 17 is formed so that the superconducting wire rod 11 is divided at equal intervals in its width D direction.
