PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide an image acquisition device which allows for creation of a new image by cutting out an image from one captured image and then rearranging the image, and to provide an image acquisition method and a program for image acquisition. SOLUTION : An imaging device 1 as an image acquisition device includes an imaging unit 4, a trimming unit 25, a direction determination unit 27, and an image synthesis unit 28. The imaging unit 4 captures a first subject and a second subject located around the first subject simultaneously, and creates a captured image. The trimming unit 25 cuts out a first image including the first subject and a second image including the second subject from the captured image. The direction determination unit 27 determines the image direction, i.e., the orientation of the first image. The image synthesis unit 28 adjusts the orientation of the first and second images on the basis of the image direction, and creates an edition image by synthesizing the first and second images.
