The present invention provides a highly reliable multilayer ceramic capacitor by preventing reliability lowering due to formation of Ni-Mg segregation phases and abnormal grain growth simultaneously. The multilayer ceramic capacitor includes : a multilayer structure which has multiple dielectric ceramic layers and multiple internal electrode layers; and an external electrode which is formed on the surface of the multilayer structure and electrically connected to the internal electrode layers exposed on the surface of the multilayer structure. The internal electrode layer is an electrode layer which includes Ni. The dielectric ceramic layer contains : a perovskite type compound including Ba and Ti; Ca, Mg, R (R is at least one species among rare earth elements of La, Ce, Pr, Nd, Sm, Eu, Gd, Tb, Dy, Ho, Er, Tm, Yb, Lu and Y), and M (M is at least one element among Zr, Mn, Co, Fe, Cr, Cu, Al, V, Mo and W); and Si. Meanwhile, each of the elements in terms of the mole number by which each of the elements is contained when Ti is set to 100 moles is as follows : Ca is 0.10 or more and 5.00 or less; Mg is 0.0010 or more and 0.0098 or less; total Rs is 0.50 or more and 4.00 or less; total Ms is 0.10 or more and 2.00 or less; and Si is 0.5 or more and 2.0 or less.
