FIELD : chemistry.
SUBSTANCE : invention relates to method of producing transparent ceramic yttrium aluminium garnet (YAG), including doped with ions of rare-earth metals (Nd, Tm, Yb, Ho, Er), which can be used as active laser medium, or luminescence materials and scintillators (during doping by ions of Ce, Pr, Tb, Eu, Sm). In method of sol-gel method is obtained xerogel powders of approximate composition [Y3Al5O5(OH)10.93(CH3COO)3(NO3)0.07]·nH2O, which is ground in planetary mill and sieved through sieve with mesh size of 100 mqm. Powder xerogel, passed through sieve, is placed in mold and compacted at pressure of 200 MPa. Obtained compact is heated at rate of 0.06 K/min to 600 °C, then at rate of 5 K/min to 1, 200 °C in oxygen-containing atmosphere and kept at this temperature for 0.5 hours. Then compact is placed in vacuum furnace, heated at rate of 10 K/min to 1, 800 °C and kept at this temperature for 4 hours. Obtained sample is annealed in air at 1, 300 °C for 1 hour, then ground and polished at surfaces. Obtaining transparent ceramic yttrium aluminium garnet with transmission at wavelength of 1, 064 nm 83.6 %, replacement of pure nano powder yttrium oxide with nano powder yttrium oxide doped with ions of rare-earth metals (Nd, Tm, Yb, Ho, Er, Ce, Pr, Sm, Eu, Tb) in amount of up to 10 mol%, obtained is ceramic YAG doped with ions of rare-earth elements and suitable for use as laser or scintillation material.
EFFECT : technical result of invention consists in simplification of technology of ceramic YAG.
