Method of establishing geochemical criteria of oil-bearing capacity rocks, including analysis of fractions of rock (mineral movable complex, organic complex and insoluble residue) on content of all lanthanides and yttrium, detection of anomalies separate lanthanides in composition of rare-earth (rare-earth elements) capable of change valency at change of oxidation-reduction conditions due to presence of oil hydrocarbons and gas and match them with geokhimicheskimi reference oil-bearing capacity rocks, characterized in that core material is divided on mineral movable and organic complexes, is determined in them all lanthanides and yttrium, additionally also in shaft rocks and insoluble residue, is calculated normalized concentration of rare-earth relative to to uglistymkhondritam , ratio of part of rare-earth fractions to shaft rocks and stretching ratio of cerium, europium and terbium, and by anomalous values and distributions of these lanthanides full complement rare-earth elements are equated with geokhimicheskimi reference oil-bearing capacity rocks.
