PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a photocatalytic glass that shows sufficient photocatalytic activity in visible light without using rare metal, and a method of producing the photocatalytic glass. SOLUTION : This invention provides a photocatalytic glass comprising an iron-containing glass containing paramagnetic iron ions, formed using an iron supply source and a glass forming material, wherein the iron ions are trivalent iron ions. This invention also provides a method of producing a photocatalytic glass that comprises a vitrification step of performing vitrification using the iron supply source by a sol-gel method.
