PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a PTC element which exhibits excellent jump characteristics while reducing the room temperature resistivity without using Pb, and also reduces secular change, and to provide a heat-generating module.SOLUTION : The PTC element has at least two ohmic electrodes, and a semiconductor porcelain composition where part of Ba of BaTiOarranged between the electrodes is substituted with Bi-Na. The semiconductor porcelain composition is represented by a composition formula [(Bi-Na)(BaRA)]TiMO(where, R is at least one kind of rare earth elements, A is at least one kind of Ca and Sr, and M is at least one kind of Nb, Ta and Sb); x, y, z and θ satisfy following relations, 0
