The present invention relates to a dry extracting process which can extract rare earth elements contained inside a permanent magnet using liquid magnesium. More specifically, the present invention relates to a method for extracting rare earth elements, which manufactures a magnesium alloy containing rare earth elements by reacting liquid magnesium to a neodymium (nN) magnet (Nd-Fe-B) scrap in order to selectively extract the rare earth elements (Nd, Dy, Pr, Gd, etc.) contained in the magnet, and can separate high purity rare earth elements by reheating the alloy in order to selectively vaporize magnesium. Therefore, the method for extracting rare earth elements can effectively separate a mesh box from molten magnesium for cooling by separating the Nd-Fe-B scrap and inserting it into the steel mesh box that does not react to magnesium, and can manufacture the magnesium alloy containing rare earth elements by selectively reacting only the rare earth elements without changes of chemical composition and phase composition in the rare earth element magnet scrap.(S11) Nd-Fe-B permanent magnet/Mg weighing(S12) Insert a weighing element into a crucible(S13) Mount a dissolution chamber internal crucible(S14) Dissolve Mg through high-frequency induction heating(S15) Separate solid phase (Fe-B) / liquid phase (Mg-REE)(S16) Cooling and collecting(S17) Vaporize Mg using a vacuum furnace(S18) Collect rare earth elements using magnetic separationCOPYRIGHT KIPO 2015
