The present invention relates to a composition for preventing, alleviating, or treating cancer. More specifically, the present invention relates to a pharmaceutical composition for preventing or treating TRAIL-resistant cancer containing an extract of Descurainia sophia or a fraction of the same, and a TRAIL protein as an active ingredient; or a health functional food composition for preventing or alleviating TRAIL-resistant cancer; and a method for preventing, alleviating, or treating TRAIL-resistant cancer by using the composition. Moreover, the present invention relates to a fodder additive, a drinkable water additive, a fodder, or drinkable water for preventing or alleviating TRAIL-resistant cancer, wherein the extract of Descurainia sophia or fraction of the same and a TRAIL protein are contained as active ingredients. Furthermore, the present invention relates to a composition for increasing the expression of a TRAIL protein receptor, wherein the extract of Descurainia sophia or a fraction of the same is contained; and a method for increasing the expression of a TRAIL protein receptor by using the composition.
