The present invention relates to an ultra high-strength coated steel wire for an overhead transmission and distribution conductor. The technical base is that the ultra high-strength coated steel wire for an overhead transmission and distribution conductor comprises : 0.88-0.96 wt% of C; 1.1-1.5 wt% of Si; 0.3-0.7 wt% of Mn; 0.001-0.02 wt% of P; 0.001-0.02 wt% of S; 0.001-0.3 wt% of Cu; 0.2-0.4 wt% of Cr; and the remainder of Fe, and has a tensile strength in the range of 180-250 kgf/mm^2. Therefore, the present invention is capable of greatly reducing the amount of wire sagging by increasing a tensile load and a maximum tensile force of the wire, thereby increasing the transmission capacity as much as the reduced amount of sagging.COPYRIGHT KIPO 2015
