The invention relates to a conversion element (2) comprising a phosphor (2b), which is equipped for converting primary electromagnetic radiation into secondary electromagnetic radiation, a glass composition (2a) as matrix material into which the phosphor (2b) has been embedded, where the glass composition (2a) comprises at least one tellurium oxide R1O, where R1 is selected from a group comprising Mg, Ca, Sr, Ba, Zn, Mn and combinations thereof, M12O, where M1 is selected from a group comprising Li, Na, K and combinations thereof, R22O3, where R2 is selected from a group comprising Al, Ga, In, Bi, Sc, Y, La, rare earths, and combinations thereof, M2O2, where M2 is selected from a group comprising Ti, Zr, Hf and combinations thereof and R32O5, where R3 is Nb and/or Ta. The invention further relates to a component (10) and a process for producing a component (10).
