PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a superconducting wire material which can reduce effects of a shielding current on the magnetic filed distribution by suppressing the shielding current to improve stability of the magnetic field, and a superconducting coil using the same.
SOLUTION : A superconducting wire material 11 is composed of a tape-like wire material 12 in which a superconducting layer composed of a rare earth oxide superconductor is formed on a substrate with a middle layer interposed and first and second stabilization layers are formed on the superconducting layer. The tape-like wire material 12 is wound to form a double pancake coil as a superconducting coil 18. In the tape-like wire material 12, a shielding groove 20 for electric shielding is formed intermittently so as to extend in the longitudinal direction, and the shielding groove 20 penetrates the tape-like wire material 12. A shielding current is formed in a loop form in small regions 23 around the shielding groove 20.
