PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a valuable metal recovery method capable of sufficiently recovering noble metals remaining in a waste liquid, rare earth elements, and other metals, namely valuable metals without causing corrosion of a furnace and capable of easily processing a cyan waste liquid which has middle to high concentration at low cost. SOLUTION : Provided is the valuable metal recovery method in which concentrate 101 of a waste liquid 100 including a cyanide, an inorganic carbonate and valuable metals is burned at 400-650°C, and then cyan is separated from the concentrate of the waste liquid 100 as a cyanogen gas 103, and the valuable metals are recovered from a residual 102 which was burned.
