METHOD OF MAKING PIG IRON CASTING IMPROVED IN STRENGTH

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a method of producing a pig iron casting improved in strength using an alternative additive, instead of rare earth which is unstable to import. SOLUTION : A method of producing a pig iron casting comprises mixing minute amounts nickel and chromium contained in a stainless round bar by a fine method and uses waste, or lathe powder, produced in lathing a round bar . The lathe powder is rolled in a manner similar to that for rice ball making to prepare two or more kinds of balls of 100 g, 200 g, etc. When cast iron is taken out from cupola with a 10-kg dipper for processing, cast iron is poured on the ball laid in the bottom of the dipper, and the ball is molten with violet flame and admixed.
