PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a permanent magnet capable of exhibiting large coercive force with good reproducibility while using a Sm-Co based magnet having a composition of high Fe concentration. SOLUTION : A permanent magnet of an embodiment has a composition represented by a compositional formula : RpFeqMrCusCo100-p-q-r-s (where, R represents a rare earth element, M represents at least one element selected among from Zr, Ti and Hf, and 10.8≤p≤13.5, 28≤q≤40, 0.88≤r≤7.2 and 3.5≤s≤13.5 (atom%) are satisfied), and comprises a metallographic structure including a cell phase having a Th2Zn17 crystal phase and a cell wall phase. Cu concentration in the cell wall phase is in a range of 30 atom% or more and 70 atom% or less. COPYRIGHT : (C)2014, JPO&INPIT
