The present invention proposes a magnetic press apparatus using a Halbach cylinder structure and a control method thereof. The magnetic press apparatus comprises : a forming mold; a mold punch; a magnetic field generation part; and a driving control part, wherein two electromagnets are arranged on the left and right sides of the forming mold to allow a uniform magnetic flux density to be applicable to a molded body obtained by compression molding by the forming mold, so that a magnetic field for more accurately aligning magnetic domains is applied from both the left and right directions of the forming mold.Therefore, the present invention can solve non-uniformity of magnetic flux density, which is generated during a process of molding a rare earth-based permanent magnet and negatively influences the performance of an existing magnet.
