PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a particulate filter provided with a catalyst, which allows a PM (Particulate matter) deposited on the particulate filter to be efficiently and promptly burned by preventing a catalyst metal from being poisoned by S (Sulfur). SOLUTION : A catalyst layer 22 provided at an exhaust gas passage wall 21 of a particulate filter contains a PdPt alloy carrying Zr containing composite oxide in which an alloy 24 of palladium (Pd) and platinum (Pt) is carried as a catalyst metal on a Zr-based composite oxide 23 containing a rare earth element except zirconium (Zr) and cerium (Ce).
