PURPOSE : A method for extracting Nd from a rare earth magnet is provided to enable Nd, which is rare earth metal, to be recovered from a rare earth magnet at high productivity. CONSTITUTION : A method for extracting Nd from a rare earth magnet includes the following steps of : dissolving a Nd-Mg alloy piece with acid; adding a reagent forming a Nd complex compound into the solution in which the Nd-Mg alloy piece is dissolved by acid; filtering and separating Nd complex compound precipitates from the solution; and obtaining Nd oxide by heating the filtered and separated Nd complex compound precipitates.
