PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide an aggregate composition for treating a fluid containing one or more contaminants. SOLUTION : The aggregate composition includes an insoluble rare earth-containing compound and a polymer binder, includes a rare earth-containing compound which includes at least 95 wt.% of a cerium oxide, and is incorporated into a filter substrate or coated onto the filter substrate.
