PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a permanent magnet improving magnetic properties such as magnetization and coercivity of a Sm-Co-based sinter magnet and capable of enhancing mechanical properties such as strength.
SOLUTION : The permanent magnet contains a sintered body 6B having a composition represented by the composition formula : RpFeqMrCusCo100-p-q-r-s, where R is one or more elements selected from rare earth elements, M is one or more elements selected from Zr, Ti and Hf, 10≤p≤13.3, 25≤q≤40, 0.87≤r≤5.4 and 3.5≤s≤13.5 (atom %). The sinter body constituting the permanent magnet contains a metal structure having a main phase 2 containing a Th2Zn17-type crystal phase, and a R-M rich phase 3 containing the element R at 1.2 times the R concentration in the main phase and the element M at 1.2 times or more the M concentration, and having a volume fraction in a range of 0.2 to 15%.
