FIELD : chemistry. SUBSTANCE : invention relates to a novel inorganic green pigment for dyeing different materials. The pigment has the formula RE2MoO6, where RE denotes mixed rare-earth metals in amount of 66.66 mol %, Mo denotes molybdenum in amount of 33.34 mol %. The mixed rare-earth metals are a mixture of rare-earth elements with atomic number from 57 to 66. The metals include at least 43-45 wt % lanthanum, 33-35 wt % neodymium, 9-10 wt % praseodymium, 4-5 wt % samarium and other rare-earth elements selected from cerium, dysprosium, gadolinium, europium, terbium and yttrium in amount of 5 wt %. The pigment is obtained by mixing solid phases of a carbonate of said mixture of rare-earth elements and ammonium heptamolybdate, calcining the mixture at 900-1100°C for 3-6 hours while heating at a rate of 10°C/min, followed by grinding. EFFECT : invention enables to obtain an environmentally safe and cost-effective green pigment for making heat-resistant coatings on different substrates. 9 cl, 4 dwg, 4 ex
