Disclosed is a giant magnetoresistive spin valve sensor with improved sensitivity. In the giant magnetoresistive spin valve sensor, according to an embodiment of the present invention, a buffer layer; a base layer with perpendicular magnetic anisotropy; a nonmagnetic layer, a measurement layer with in-plane magnetic anisotropy; and a protective layer are successively laminated on a substrate. The measurement layer includes a multi-layer thin film structure composed of ferromagnetic transition metal with in-plane magnetic anisotropy, and rare earth metal or transition metal.COPYRIGHT KIPO 2014
