PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a nitrogen oxide clarification catalyst in which selection reduction activity to a nitrogen oxide is high, and performance deterioration after durability is small. SOLUTION : A nitrogen oxide clarification catalyst comprises : β zeolite that supports an oxide of a rare earth metal; and titanium dioxide that supports an oxide of a rare earth metal, or comprises : β zeolite that supports an oxide of a rare earth metal and an oxide or a hydroxide of iron; and titanium dioxide that supports an oxide of a rare earth metal, and an oxide or a hydroxide of iron, and a nitrogen oxide clarification catalyst comprises a carrier comprising ceramic or a metallic material; and a layer of the nitrogen oxide clarification catalyst supported on the carrier.
