PURPOSE : A silicon nitride ceramics is provided to be used as a phosphor in a white LED, improve the intensity of the white LED, have excellent colors, and have excellent mechanical properties and transmittance. CONSTITUTION : A Si3N4 ceramics comprises a rare earth element. The rare earth element is a rare earth element oxide. The comprised amount of the rare earth element is 0.1-5 weight% based on the total weight of the Si3N4 ceramics. The Si3N4 ceramics additionally comprises a mixture of MgO and AIN. A phosphor is formed of the Si3N4 ceramics with a bulk type. A manufacturing method of the Si3N4 ceramics comprises a step of sintering rare earth element-containing Si3N4 at 1700-2000°C and 5-50 MPa.
