PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide an antimicrobial agent exerting a long lasting antimicrobial effect. SOLUTION : An antimicrobial agent includes a radioactive substance with a radiation dose of 0.1 mSv/year or over and 5 mSv/year or less. Preferably, the radioactive substance is one or two or more kinds of earth and sand in a radiation contaminated area, earth and sand including a radioactive nuclide, an uranium waste material, and a nuclear waste material. More preferably, the antimicrobial agent is the antimicrobial agent further including a metal. Further preferably, the metal is a capsular form and the radioactive substance is enclosed in the metal.
