The device (20) has a fluoroscopy unit (22) comprising an X-ray source (26) i.e. X-ray tube, and an X-ray detector (28) e.g. line detector and surface detector. The X-ray detector analyzes an earth dam (12) positioned between the X-ray source and the X-ray detector and receives fluoroscopy measurements (32a, 32b) of an asparagus (10) from two different fluoroscopy angles. An image processing unit (24) determines positions of the asparagus in a longitudinal direction and a transverse direction of the earth dam, respectively based on the fluoroscopy measurements. Independent claims are also included for the following : (1) a harvest system (2) a method for detecting an asparagus in an earth dam.
