(57) Abstract : Provided is a high-color-rendering and high-efficiency lamp in a metal halide lamp in the 100-W class or less. A met al halide lamp provided with a ceramic light-emitting tube and having a rated power of 35-100 W and a color temperature of 28003700 K, wherein a halogen additive is sealed as the light-emitting substance in the light-emitting tube, and the halogen additive com prises : (1) cerium (Ce); (2) sodium (Na); (3) calcium (Ca); (4) thallium (Tl); and (5) one or more rare earth metals selected from group consisting of dysprosium (Dy), thulium (Tm), and holmium (Ho). The halogen additive is an iodide, and the composition tios in the halogen additive are : 1.5 mol% to 3 mol% of cerium iodide; 45 mol% to 90 mol% of sodium iodide; 5 mol% to 1 5 mol% of calcium iodide; and 2 mol% to 7 mol% of thallium iodide.
