PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a catalyst improved in temporal stability for effectively decomposing N2O present in exhaust gas discharged from an industrial plant. SOLUTION : A catalyst is an oxide of cerium and lanthanum as indispensible components, and further contains at least one oxide of an element chosen from zirconium and rare earths other than cerium and lanthanum.
