An alloy which comprises (by weight) : 27-33 % Cr, 4.9-7.8 % Mo, >3.1-6.0 % Cu, 0.3-1 0 % Mn, 0.1-0.5 % Al, 0.1-0.8 % Si, 0.01-0.11 % C, 0-3.0 % Fe, 0-0.13 % N, 0-0.05 % Mg, 0-0.05 % rare earth elements, 0-0.56 % Ti, 0-1.12 % Nb, 0-2.24 % Ta and 0-2.24 % Hf, with the balance being nickel and impurities. The alloy is resistant to 70% sulfuric acid at 93°C and 50% sodium hydroxide at 121°C for acid and alkali neutralization in the field of waste management.
