PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a method for industrially extremely advantageously producing a ≥3C olefin, especially propylene, from ethanol, by which the ≥3C olefin, especially propylene, can be produced in high selectivity in a relatively mild reaction condition. SOLUTION : The method for producing the ≥3C olefin from ethanol in the presence of a catalyst is characterized by using a catalyst containing a rare-earth metal and zeolite as a catalyst.
