PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide : an artificial peptide with a rare metal-binding capacity; and a method of recovering rare metals with few environmental loads. SOLUTION : A peptide has the following amino acid sequence (1), and the number of amino acid residues is at most 100. (1) SDPLVX1RASLIGLLX2LLLWX3X4X5RX6 (SEQ ID NO 1). In the formula, X1 denotes a hydrophilic amino acid, X2 denotes H or A, X3 denotes R or K; X4 denotes M or an aliphatic amino acid, X5 denotes D or E, and X6 denotes an arbitrary amino acid.
