PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a phosphor having full width at half maximum of emission spectrum of green fluorescence which is narrower than that of rare earth-activated sialon phosphor emitting a conventional green fluorescence, in which a form of emission spectrum is well-matched to red-green-blue color filter, to provide a light emitting apparatus using the phosphor and to provide an image display apparatus using the light emitting apparatus. SOLUTION : The phosphor is obtained by forming a solid solution of Al with Eu into acid nitride crystal having β type Si3N4crystal structure and has 0.1-0.6 mass% oxygen concentration contained in the crystal. The light-emitting apparatus is obtained by using the phosphor. The image display apparatus is obtained by using the light-emitting apparatus. COPYRIGHT : (C)2009, JPO&INPIT
