The laminate has a set of photovoltaic solar cells (3) that are provided in electrical series connection. A front sided cover of the cells consists of a transparent thermoplastic covering layer. The thermoplastic covering layer is provided in a hot plastic state without application of intermediate hot-melt epoxy adhesive (9) from a broad nozzle of an extruder to an interconnection portion of cells. The thermoplastic covering layer is applied via rollers and optionally cooled and prismatically structured on a surface with rounded prism-edges. The covering layer comprises rare earth metals. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a glassless solar cell laminate.
