A device (10) for analysing patient samples is provided, having a patient module (21) which can be used only for one patient (12), said module being equipped to receive at least one patient sample and incorporating sensors (37) to take measurements of the patient sample as well as at least one storage chamber (27) containing a sensor solution (27a). In addition, a reusable measurement module (23) is provided which can be mechanically connected to the patient module (21) in a detachable manner and which picks up and processes measurements from the sensors (37), and supplies a determination of physiological patient parameters. The patient module (21) and the measurement module (23) are designed such that they remain mechanically connected to each other during the receiving and analysis of at least two patient samples taken in temporal succession.
