PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a cyclone dust collector wherein dust in air is removed by centrifugal separation, having a compact size as well as a high dust collection rate attained by preventing an air stream therein from re-scattering the separated dust. ŽSOLUTION : The dust collector 1 includes a shielding member 6 disposed on the bottom face of an outer cylinder 2, which shielding member 6 is a cylinder equipped with an outer brim 8. If the dust collector 1 is constructed to have a low height, the lower end of its inner cylinder 4 and the bottom face of the outer cylinder 2 come close to each other, and hence separated dust having fallen on the bottom face of the outer cylinder 2 is attracted toward the inner cylinder 4 by an air stream sucked thereby. Nevertheless, since the dust collector 1 includes the shielding member 6, the dust is prevented from moving by colliding with the shielding member 6, and can be prevented from flying again. Therefore, the inner cylinder 4 and the bottom face of the outer cylinder 2 can be disposed closer to each other without lowering the dust collection rate. Thus, the cyclone dust collector 1 having a compact size as well as a high dust collection rate can be made available. ŽCOPYRIGHT : (C)2010, JPO&INPIT Ž
