PURPOSE : Yttrium hydroxycarbonate which is modified with heterogeneous metal, a method for preparing the same, and a heavy metal adsorbent and a filter having same are provided to improve heavy metal adsorption and removal performance, and to selectively adsorb and remove heavy metal ions in the water while maintaining mineral.CONSTITUTION : Yttrium hydroxycarbonate which is modified with heterogeneous metal has a pore size of 10 nm or less. The heterogeneous metal is selected from transition metals, rare earth elements, alkali earth metal, and group 14 elements, and a combination thereof. The heavy metal adsorbent contains the heterogeneous metal-modified yttrium hydroxycarbonate and is an arsenic adsorbent.
