PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a dielectric composition capable of attaining grain growth suppression and reduction resistance and securing excellent reliability at high temperature without using any rare earth elements, and a ceramic electronic component comprising the same. SOLUTION : The dielectric composition comprises : a base powder; a first accessory component comprising an oxide or a carbonate containing transition metals of a content (x) of 0.1 to 1.0 at%, based on 100 moles of the base powder; a second accessory component comprising an oxide or a carbonate containing a fixed valence acceptor element of a content (y) of 0.01 to 5.0 at%, based on 100 moles of the base powder; a third accessory component comprising an oxide or a carbonate containing a donor element; and a fourth accessory component comprising a sintering aid.
