PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a method of adsorbing metals, which can enhance recovery efficiency after industrial utilization or secondary utilization efficiency by enabling the metals hardly adsorbable and separable to be easily adsorbable at low cost. SOLUTION : The metals in a water solution are adsorbed and separated by supplying a natural wooden material made fine into a water solution, in which the metals are dissolved in a form of oxoacid or oxoacid anion. More specifically, arboreal plants (trees) such as Japanese cryptomeria, pine tree and cherry, or the natural wooden material collected from herbal plants such as bamboo and sugarcane are made fine and used for rare metals such as molybdenum, tungusten and germanium.
