PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a structure for earth and sand sedimentation such that it is easy to secure a site for installing a temporary sedimentation basin, and the installation and removal can be carried out easily at low cost. SOLUTION : There is provided a structure 1 for earth and sand sedimentation that is installed in ground, and used permanently as a water passage, and temporarily as a sedimentation basin which receives muddy water flowing in and including earth and sand and sediments the earth and sand. The structure includes a trench 11 which serves as the water passage and sedimentation basin; a partition wall 28 which is arranged at a downstream end of the trench and stops the earth and sand in the muddy water flowing down in the trench from flowing out when the trench is used as the sedimentation basin; an overflow port 30 which is formed by penetrating an upper part of a sidewall 13 constituting the trench, and discharges supernatant fluid separated from the earth and sand in the muddy water; and an overflow port closing member which closes the overflow port when the trench is used as the water passage.
