The fluorescent lamp has a straight or circular glass discharge tube (2) with circular cross-section, and with an external diameter of less than or equal to 26 mm. The electrodes (3, 4) are molded into each respective end, with one at a slightly greater distance from the tube end than the other to enable a cold spot to form.
