Provide is an exhaust gas-purifying catalyst that is less prone to cause decrease in its activity even when used at high temperatures in an atmosphere whose oxygen concentration is high. The present invention is an exhaust gas-purifying catalyst (1) including a rare-earth element, an alkaline-earth element, and a precious metal (13a), a part of the rare-earth element and a part of the alkaline-earth element forming a composite oxide (12), and the composite oxide and a part of the precious metal forming a solid solution.
