The invention relates to an aluminate thermal-insulation material, which is alkali-resistant and high-temperature-resistant and which has a molar ratio of 1 to 3 parts alkaline-earth oxide "C" to one part aluminum oxide "A" (Al2O3). The aluminate thermal-insulation material is produced by autoclaving and firing in situ or in a sintering chamber at temperatures ranging from 1000 °C to 1400 °C. The alkaline-earth aluminate can be used in molded form or as granulate.
